NGC 253 is a quite bright spiral galaxy (mag +7.2), seen nearly edge-on. This galaxy is part of a wide group of galaxies with huge amounts of dust. Its texture is clearly dominated by dust and adds beauty to its bright blue and yellow-orange color. It is a Milky Way-sized galaxy located about 10 Million light years away and it is undergoing an intense star-forming period.
