This is a three frame mosaic of the extremely colorful Rho Ophiuchi area. The full resolution image is a more than 22 MPix and 135 Mb file. Rho Oph itself is a triple star (magnitudes 4.6, 5.0 and 5.9) and it is the one surrounded by the blue reflection nebula at the upper part of this image. This image has many NGC objects and a Messier globular (M4). Some of the objects imaged are: IC 4604, IC 4603, IC 4605, VdB 107 (surrounding Antares), Sh2-9 (surrounding Al Niyat, sigma Sco)…
