Hi all,
An image of the globular cluster Messier 5 (M5) has been uploaded. This is one of the 29 globulars included in Messier’s catalog.

Hi all,
An image of NGC 7023, the Iris Nebula, has been uploaded. This is a broadband LRGB image (actually, some frames through an Halpha filter were also taken, but not used for the final image, because they did not seem to add anything).
This is a beautiful nebula, but also a very interesting object. You can find the image and additional information at:

Hi all,
A new image has been uploaded. This time it is a planetary nebula, NGC 6543 (the Cat’s Eye Nebula). Believe it or not, but over 830 images have been combined to create this image. Numerous short (6, 60 and 600 seconds in Halpha, OIII and NII for the core) together with multiple longer exposures (40 minutes in Halpha and OIII for the halo) were needed to compensate the immense dynamic range of this nebula.

Hi all,
An image of the Fleming’s Triangular Wisp has been uploaded. It is a two-pane mosaic taken with the 24 inch and with narrowband filters. You can find the image and some more info at:

Hi all,
An image of the well known Messier 57 has been uploaded. This is a very deep image (over 63 hours) taken in narrowband. This has allowed to show the external, petals-like, structure.

Hi all,
A fragment of the Vela Supernova Remnant has been uploaded. This region is an endless source of delicate images. You will find this one at>

Hi all,
A new version of the Statue of Liberty has been uploaded. This time, only the fragment with the “statue” has been reprocessed, mapping the color with the (unusual for me) Hubble palette.
You can find it at:

Hi all,
We are back to the nebulae. This time, a segment of a very large emission nebula just North of the Vela Supernova Remnant. This nebula was catalogued by Colin Gum (1955), as well as by Rodgers, Campbell and Whiteoak. It then receives the names Gum 15 and RCW 32.
You can find it at:

Hi all,
Again an image of a globular cluster. This time, Messier 62 takes the stage. Another high resolution Messier for the project. This is, like M15, M30, M70 and M79, a compact cluster that underwent core collapse. You can find additional info and the image at:
Enjoy,

Hi all,
An image of the beautiful spiral galaxy NGC 1232 has been uploaded. This quite large galaxy has several unique-ish characteristics. In 2013, the CHANDRA X-ray Observatory took an image of this galaxy and revealed an, until then, unknown smoking gun of a previous collision with a dwarf galaxy. You can find this and more at:
