Messier 1. NGC 1952

Recently, I re-visited this object, but with different tools. Although the telescope is not the 32″ Schulman that was used for the image taken in 2016 (see 2016 image here), but now, I was able to use different narrowband filters and this has made a small difference. This image was taken with 3nm Ha, NII and OIII. The signal taken with the NII filter was quite strong and partially different from Halpha (fitting was had been found about its spectrum in the literature). The filters were then mapped as follows: Ha to G; NII to R and OIII to B. This has allowed a clear separation of the different gases that conform the nebula. I have not found this kind of result in other SNRs nor this filter/color combination in the literature.

I also prepared the “natural color” version (see below), with the same masters. In both cases, short RGB images were taken to add the stars with their natural color.
