IC 4592 is, despite its beauty, not very often imaged. Its proximity to another spectacular show of the same background nebula, the Rho Ophiuci area, together with its faintness, makes this an often overlooked target.
The background nebula (LDN 1721) is, in this region, illuminated by the blue (magnitude 4.13) subgiant ν Scorpii, originating IC 4592. This image has been taken with the typical LRGB filters. The images taken with the Halpha filter did not give any significant signal.
