This image shows several different objects: NGC 2020, the very red, rose-like nebula on the lower right corner (see annotated image below), NGC 2032, NGC 2035, the Dragon’s Head nebula, NGC 2020; the red “fan”-like nebula on the upper left is NGC 2014. The bluish-green round nebula close to NGC 2014 is NGC 2020, a nebula that surrounds HD 269748, a 13.1 mag Wolf Rayet star. This star, bound to explode as a supernova in the near future, carves the “cave-like” shape of NGC 2020. This narrowband image has been processed by color- mapping Halpha to Red and OIII to both green and blue (white means broadband emission, as both filters get a similar image density). This region is located 170,000 light years away, in the Large Magellanic Cloud, constellation Doradus.
