Messier 35 is a pretty large open cluster (about 500 stars) located in the constellation Gemini. Only about 120 stars have a magnitude brighter than 13. This open cluster lies at a distance of 2800 light years, which is much closer than its neighbor (lower right) NGC 2158 (17000 light years).
