Hi all,
A new image has been uploaded to the web site. This time, it’s a nebula: NGC 2467. This is a rather interesting nebula, because it is an active star nursery. It has many (45) YSOs (Young Stellar Objects) and five of them have been labelled in the annotated copy. One remarkable feature of this image is that the Halpha images were taken with a 3nm filter, leaving “untouched” the vast Eastern region that, then, can be captured with the OIII filter, showing an area with beautiful loops.
You can find it at:
NGC 2467. The Skull and Crossbones Nebula
Enjoy!

Cat: Molt bonica, jo veig més aviat el cap d’un ocell que una calavera. Enhorabona!
Eng: Very pretty, I rather see a bird’s head than a skull. Congratulations!
This is amazing, I like it more than the ESO shot! Love the framing!
Thanks, Sakib, this image has many points that have been thoroughly though of, among them the framing…
