I have just uploaded a new image. This time, NGC 3324, the Gabriela Mistral Nebula (due to the resemblance of it to the face of the Chilean Nobel Prize Laureate), an emission nebula that is part of the Eta Carinae Nebula complex. It is a narrowband image that, as usual, has been processed as to reproduce the natural optical spectrum of the nebula. Remarkable in this image is that the OIII emission (teal-bluish in color) is quite strong in the “face” area, and it better shows the “face” of Gabriela Mistral than in regular RGB images.
