Hi all,
A new image, again a reflection nebula, has been uploaded. This time, again and as with IC 2220, I have taken LRGB and Halpha for a reflection nebula. The goal here was to be able to capture as many as possible of the thirteen Herbig Haro objects in this field. The deep 8 hours of Ha have allowed for all HHs to be captured. A “new” image has been uploaded. I say “new” (in quotes) because this image was started in 2015. For some reason, I had decided to put this image on hold and I had not taken all required subframes (Red and Blue filters were still missing, because the ones I had were not OK).
Anyhow, I have finally taken the missing filters and here is the result:

A new image has been uploaded. This time, a well known galaxy, NGC 300-Caldwell 70, a galaxy that, in spite of its “bland, boring and normal” appearance, hides some peculiarities. I started this image in 2016, but had abandoned it. I decided to finish it very recently… You can find the image and its details at:

Hi all,
This time, an image of another emission nebula has been uploaded. It’s a fragment of IC 2948, the Running Chicken Nebula. This is a structure found in the Western rim of the nebula. As usual, the image was taken in narrowband and mapped to natural color.

As the last upload for today, I published a very unusual planetary: HFG2. The original images were taken by my friend Don Goldman, who authorized me to process them and post the final result here. Thanks, Don! He was awarded, for his image, the Webb Deep-Sky Society Picture of the Month, in February 2018 (see link in the main article in this web site).

Following my promise to try to get back to work, I have uploaded another emission nebula. This time is a detail of IC 4628, the Prawn Nebula. As usual, this image was taken with narrowband filters and mapped to natural colors. You can find it at:

Another emission nebula has been uploaded. This time, Gum 29 (RCW 49) takes the stage. This nebula is a star forming region having given birth to the young and compact open cluster Westerlund 2, which contains a double star with two of the most massive stars known (82 and 83 solar masses). The second, (and last) image for today, has been uploaded. This time, it is an emission nebula (as it is quite common here…), RCW 75, also catalogued as Gum 48a. It is an extremely balanced and beautiful nebula (according to my view, of course). You will find it at:

Hi all,
After a long period without posting new images (I have kept on taking images, only my available time for processing has been lately very limited…), I am glad to share a new image. This time, it is a mosaic (1×2) involving the Gabriela Mistral Nebula (NGC 3324) and its Eastern region (that I dubbed as “Gabriela Mistral’s long and wavy hair”).
As usual, it was taken with narrowband filters and mapped to natural colors. You can find it at:

Hi all,
A new image has been uploaded. This time, the globular cluster Messier 4 has been the chosen one. This HDR image of this rather small globular, was taken with 10 minute and 2 minute exposures. Please also note the high number of Blue Stragglers (more info in the web site), which for such a small cluster is not very usual.
